Last updated October 19, 2026Rebound is an iPhone app and cloud service that extends the Bee app for students with ADHD. This page explains what it reads, what it keeps and where.
Demo mode
"Try the demo story" runs on sample data bundled in the app. It reads nothing from your Bee, Health or calendar and sends nothing to our service.
What Rebound reads
- Bee data, through the Bee API: conversations and transcripts, todos and suggestions, facts, daily summaries, insights and photos, so Rebound can notice when a plan changes and build quiz rounds.
- Apple Health, read on your iPhone: sleep stages, wake time, heart rate, heart-rate variability and steps. Only derived numbers (for example, hours slept) are sent to the service.
- Calendar, read on your iPhone, so the plan works around today's classes and events. The title, start and end time of upcoming events are sent to the service and kept so the plan can work around them.
What Rebound keeps
- Plans, quiz answers, calendar event titles and times, and short-lived events, in Amazon DynamoDB in the United States (us-east-1). Event records expire automatically.
- For talk-time features, counts only. Transcript text is discarded.
- Location is opt-in. Only the centre of a place you label is kept, never a location history.
- Service logs are kept for 14 days.
Where it goes
- Rebound writes reminders back to your Bee through the Bee API.
- Text needed to re-plan your hour or write a quiz is processed by Claude models on Amazon Bedrock. Rebound doesn't sell your data or use it for advertising.
- The Bee access token is stored only in AWS Secrets Manager and never ships in the app.
Your choices
You can turn off Health, Calendar and Notifications in iOS Settings at any time, use demo mode only, or delete the app. To ask about or delete your data, use our support page or email tarive22@gmail.com.
Rebound is a student project built for the Bee track of the Amazon Developer Hackathon.
